London 2012 Home Head Journey

Why we're getting behind Cameron and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local rower, Cameron Nichol, as he attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Cameron trains locally at Molesey Boat Club near Hampton Court Palace. Roehampton-born, he has been rowing since the age of 18 and at just 24 has already won a World Championship Silver Medal, World Cup silver and bronze medals and World U23 Championship bronze medal.

Cameron commented: ‘I love BMWs and can't believe that I'm going to be driving a brand new BMW 3 Series from now until the end of the London 2012 Games. I have a really demanding training schedule and I do a lot of travelling to promote the Games so having the BMW 3 Series is brilliant. Thank you so much Park Lane and BMW.’

Toby Partridge, Dealer Principal at Park Lane said: ‘Getting behind our local London 2012 hopeful is a great opportunity for everyone connected with Park Lane to get involved with London 2012. Everyone in Park Lane is very proud of Cameron and will be over the moon should he qualify next year. We're hoping to see more of Cameron here at the dealership and will be giving customers the chance to meet him later in the year.’
